THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES

CHILD PROTECTION EDUCATION

RECOGNIZE. REACT. REPORT.
The Prince George's County Department of Social Services recognizes that it is the responsibility of adults to keep children safe. Therefore, we have launched an aggressive effort to train and educate as many adults as possible throughout Prince George’s County.  Since beginning their child abuse prevention initiative in October 2017, The Prince George's County Department of Social Services Child Protection Education Unit has provided hundreds of residents in Prince George’s County with Child Protection Education, including the Darkness to Light sex abuse curriculum from Stewards of Children.

These training opportunities seek to engage the adults in our county in meaningful conversation so that they are able to recognize the signs of abuse, react appropriately and report responsibly as we work together to protect children.
